NFL Asks DHS to Remove Dawkins Border Video

The Department of Homeland Security used Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Dawkins’ pregame walkout and hard-hitting football highlights in social media posts referring to a purported migrant caravan approaching the U.S. border. One video showed Dawkins chanting “The time has come” and carried the caption “Our time has come”; a separate image featured the words “The Border Is Closed.” The posts appeared to suggest an aggressive response to the group, which DHS said it was tracking. Dawkins, the Eagles and the NFL had not publicly commented or confirmed whether the footage was authorized for use. The posts follow earlier instances of official government accounts mixing sports highlights with military imagery.
