NHTSA Probes 535,639 GMC Sierras After Recall

NHTSA has opened an investigation into upper grille deflectors detaching from an estimated 535,639 GMC Sierra 1500s from model years 2022–2024, after receiving 118 complaints. Reports describe detached parts cracking windshields or prompting drivers to swerve, and 21 complaints involve trucks that had already received GM’s earlier repair. That recall covered certain 2022 Sierras with chrome grille deflectors, leaving regulators to assess whether the repair worked and whether other trucks may be affected. GM says it is cooperating with the review; NHTSA has not announced a new recall.
