No. 11 BYU, LJ Martin Rout Colorado State 41-23

No. 11 BYU defeated Colorado State 41-23 in Fort Collins to improve to 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season. Running back LJ Martin led the Cougars with 176 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, including a 56-yard score on the second play, while BYU’s offense produced 559 total yards. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier added 227 passing yards and two touchdowns despite throwing his first interception of the season, and freshman receiver Legend Glasker contributed 131 receiving yards and a rushing touchdown. BYU scored 31 unanswered points before Colorado State mounted a late rally, and the Rams’ offense was further hampered by injuries to quarterbacks Hauss Hejny and K’Saan Farrar. Colorado State fell to 2-1, though coach Jim Mora said the loss had not discouraged his team.
