No. 2 UConn closed its preseason with an 86-50 exhibition win over Army, overcoming an early Black Knights lead by outscoring them 32-7 in the second quarter. Sarah Strong led the Huskies with 19 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Jovana Popovic scored 10 and Allie Ziebell added 13 in her return from an ankle injury. The exhibition was a test for Army, which returns four starters and 12 players from a 26-win team that reached the WNIT, before both teams begin regular-season play.
