No. 8 BYU Stifles Iowa State 24-10
No. 8 BYU beat Iowa State 24-10 in Provo to improve to 5-0, outgaining the Cyclones 506-200. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier produced more than 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards, while BYU’s defense held Iowa State to 10 points and limited standout running back Aiden Flora to 86 rushing yards after his explosive game the week before. The Cougars applied relentless pressure, recording three sacks, seven tackles for loss and 10 pass deflections, and largely stifled the Cyclones’ offense. Iowa State coach Jimmy Rogers said his team was not good enough and pointed to the explosive plays it allowed; the Cyclones entered their bye week at 3-3, with injuries also affecting the defense.
