North American Stations Launch 24/7 Christmas Music

Radio stations in Michigan, Ohio, western New York and Edmonton have begun switching to all-Christmas programming, with several launching their 24/7 holiday playlists on Nov. 1. Star 93.3 in Cincinnati and Easy 93.3 in mid-Michigan plan to keep Christmas music on through the season, with Easy 93.3 continuing through New Year’s Day; Edmonton’s MIX 107.9 says its round-the-clock programming runs through Boxing Day. The stations are mixing classic and contemporary holiday songs, and staff describe the early switch as a tradition that listeners anticipate for its festive, nostalgic appeal. In Grand Rapids, Star 105.7’s launch included a memorial tribute song, Dolly Parton’s “Hard Candy Christmas.”
