North Dakota AG warns of unproven stem-cell treatments
North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley is warning residents about companies selling stem cell treatments and other human-tissue injections at restaurant presentations, often promoted with unproven claims that they can relieve pain or treat serious illnesses. State and federal law require rigorous clinical testing and FDA approval before these treatments can be sold; use of an FDA-registered facility does not mean a treatment is FDA-approved. Officials say unapproved products can pose serious health and financial risks, with reported harms including infections and chronic pain. Wrigley identified Freedom Regenerative as a company that invited residents to free-dinner presentations with misleading promises and did business in North Dakota without a required transient merchant license. Residents who believe they were misled can file a complaint with the state Attorney General’s Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division.
