Novo Nordisk lifts outlook on 22% obesity-sales growth
Novo Nordisk raised its 2026 outlook after third-quarter revenue and adjusted operating profit beat expectations, with stronger demand for GLP-1 drugs—particularly obesity treatments—driving the improvement. Obesity-care sales reached 26.1 billion Danish kroner, and the newly launched Wegovy pill generated 5.4 billion kroner in sales; the company now expects adjusted sales and operating profit to range from 2% growth to 2% decline, versus its previous forecast of declines of up to 6%. Adjusted operating profit rose 27% at constant exchange rates, but reported operating profit fell 9% because of 8.7 billion kroner in non-cash impairment charges, including write-downs tied to ziltivekimab and manufacturing-network restructuring.
