Nuclear Stocks Span Global Markets, IPOs, Reactors

Nuclear-related stocks are drawing investor attention as demand grows for reliable, long-term power, but the companies span very different stages of development and risk. BWX Technologies has fallen sharply from its high, yet its valuation depends less on commodity prices than on the durability of long-term U.S. government and naval nuclear-propulsion contracts. NuScale Power offers direct exposure to small modular reactors and has regulatory progress, project activity and substantial liquidity, but remains loss-making and needs firm customer agreements to generate sustained cash flow. India’s Kirloskar Oil Engines provides more indirect nuclear exposure through backup power systems, engines and microgrids, though its reliance on diesel technology, borrowing and broader industrial markets adds risk. Nano Nuclear Energy and the renewed nuclear IPO market illustrate the sector’s speculative side: analyst price targets and commercialization potential may suggest large upside, but uncertain execution, financing needs, sponsor quality and limited cash-flow visibility make those projections unreliable on their own.
