Numerica, SELCO Plan $8 Billion Merger

Numerica Credit Union and Oregon-based SELCO Community Credit Union have agreed to a merger of equals that would create an institution with nearly $8 billion in assets, more than 325,000 members and 38 branches across Oregon, Washington and northern Idaho. The combined organization would keep the Numerica name, operate under SELCO’s Oregon charter and be headquartered in Springfield, with Numerica’s Spokane Valley headquarters serving as a secondary headquarters and housing the CEO’s office. Numerica CEO Carla Cicero would lead the combined credit union, while SELCO CEO Bob Newcomb plans to retire after the integration. The credit unions say they will operate separately while systems are combined, with no planned branch closures and no immediate changes for members. The merger, expected to be completed by early 2028, still requires regulatory approval and member approval.
