Nutrien beats sales estimates but misses on profit

Nutrien reported third-quarter sales of $6.06 billion, above the $5.91 billion estimate. The fertilizer and agricultural-services company has higher revenue and earnings than its chemical-industry peers, and analysts’ consensus price target suggests more potential upside than the peer-group average. Nutrien also offers a 3.2% dividend yield and has raised its dividend for seven consecutive years. Its shares recently rose 1.28% in a positive session for Canadian stocks, though they remained 16% below their 52-week high.
