Nvidia Weighs Multibillion Credit Guarantees for Nscale AI Campus

Nvidia is discussing multibillion-dollar credit guarantees for Nscale to help finance electricity infrastructure and construction of an AI data center campus in West Virginia that Anthropic plans to use. The proposal has not been finalized, and Nvidia, Nscale and Anthropic did not comment; Nvidia is already an investor in the UK-based cloud provider. Anthropic has agreed to spend about $45 billion leasing computing capacity at the campus, and Nscale is also negotiating a separate deal to supply Anthropic with roughly 460 megawatts of capacity, potentially worth another $45 billion. The talks come as investors scrutinize the debt financing behind the rapid expansion of AI data centers.
