Officers reportedly assaulted across US, Britain

Police and detention personnel were assaulted in several separate incidents. In Leverett, Massachusetts, a suspect responding to a home break-in investigation charged an officer and briefly fled before being arrested; police have not released the suspect’s identity or the charges. In Belton, Texas, two people arrested on outstanding warrants allegedly attacked deputies during efforts to place them in patrol vehicles, injuring one deputy; prosecutors are reviewing possible charges. In Rockingham County, an inmate was charged after allegedly assaulting a detention officer, who was hospitalized and is expected to recover. Separately, a Harrow man admitted assaulting two officers and a woman in Farnborough and received a community order with probation and unpaid work.
