Officials Order Flags at Half-Staff for Memorials

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered flags lowered statewide on Nov. 7 to honor Robert Shove, an Iowa-born Navy sailor who died as a prisoner of war during World War II. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster ordered the State Capitol flags lowered on Nov. 5 in honor of former state lawmaker and appellate judge Alexander M. Sanders Jr. Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson directed state agency flags to fly at half-staff on Nov. 6 for Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers, who served nearly 24 years and died at 56.
