Officials Schedule Open Houses on Housatonic Cleanup and Water Projects

The EPA will hold an Oct. 21 open house in Lenox about GE’s proposed rail transload areas for the Housatonic River cleanup, with public comments due Nov. 6. Chennai Metrowater will host its regular Saturday open houses at area offices for residents to raise water, sewage and billing concerns and check on service requests. Columbia Public Works will present designs for a roundabout and sidewalks at an Oct. 15 open house, with construction planned for 2027 and 2028. Charlottesville Utilities will discuss the second phase of replacing the aging Locust Avenue water line at an Oct. 15 open house; construction is scheduled to start the following week and will proceed in stages, with a planned pause until summer 2027.

September short interest moved sharply in both directions across five ETFs: it rose 131% for Pacer American Energy Independence and 176.2% for Pacer Swan SOS Moderate, while falling 70.8% for AXS Astoria Real Assets, 89.4% for ProShares Inflation Expectations and 65.9% for Pacer Trendpilot European. Despite the swings, short positions remained a small share of outstanding shares in each fund.
