OHA Names Three CEO Finalists
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has named Todd Kala Apo, Kaulana Park and Summer Lee Haunani Sylva as finalists for its administrator and CEO position, which oversees statewide operations, more than 130 employees and an annual budget of roughly $70 million to $80 million. Apo is a former Honolulu City Council chair with executive experience in nonprofit, philanthropic and corporate roles; Park is a former state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands director who has also worked at OHA; Sylva, a former Biden administration official, is OHA’s interim leader. The finalists are scheduled to meet with the public on Oct. 15, with trustees expected to select a new CEO around Oct. 22 after considering public feedback and other assessments. The search is unfolding amid a lawsuit by former CEO Stacy Ferreira, who alleges she was improperly removed, while people testifying before trustees have voiced support for Sylva.
