Ohio Sheriff Identifies Three Trump Rally Assault Suspects
Authorities in Mahoning County, Ohio, have identified three men suspected of assaulting a female protester during President Donald Trump’s Oct. 12 rally in Youngstown. Video shows the woman, who wore a shirt calling for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, being pulled down and struck; she later filed a report seeking charges. Sheriff Jerry Greene said investigators have contacted the suspects and are arranging interviews, with two local men requesting that attorneys be present and the New Jersey suspect potentially interviewed remotely or by local police. The county prosecutor’s office said the information it has received so far indicates misdemeanor assault, not a felony; a felony case could be presented to a grand jury if evidence of a weapon or serious physical harm emerges. Misdemeanor prosecution falls under Youngstown’s jurisdiction, and prosecutors say police must complete the investigation and charges must be filed before their office can proceed.
