Omaha Forecaster Predicts Snowier, Wetter Winter
Omaha forecaster Bill Randby expects a wetter, snowier winter than the past two, forecasting 30–35 inches of snow—potentially about as much as the previous two winters combined, but not a record. In the San Francisco Bay Area, cool conditions and coastal flooding risks are expected, with only a chance of very light Halloween rain. Seattle is ending an unusually dry October, with rain returning ahead of a chilly Halloween. In North Carolina, drought may make fall colors shorter-lived, while local coverage also highlights winter-weather preparedness and the risks of cold to pets. The forecasts are regional and point to differing conditions rather than a single outlook for the country.
