Omar’s Sister Cancels Book-Tour Stop Amid Reported Probe
Sahra Noor, Rep. Ilhan Omar’s older sister, canceled a scheduled appearance in Rochester, Minnesota, promoting her memoir, with the bookstore that helped organize it citing a “family emergency.” The cancellation came days after federal agents searched Omar’s home and amid a reported federal investigation into possible immigration fraud; Noor was reportedly subpoenaed as part of the inquiry. Omar also faces a separate inquiry into her financial disclosures, and reports say investigators have issued subpoenas to some relatives and seized devices during the search. Authorities have not publicly detailed the allegations, and neither Omar nor Noor has been charged in connection with the search. Omar called the raid an “outrageous abuse of power” and said it was an effort to target political enemies.
