OPEC Cuts Oil-Demand Growth Forecast to 380,000 Bpd
OPEC cut its forecast for global oil-demand growth this year to 380,000 barrels a day from 580,000 barrels a day previously. The downgrade came as escalating attacks on Gulf shipping disrupted key export routes and pushed Brent crude above $100 a barrel. OPEC raised its forecast for next year’s demand growth to 2.36 million barrels a day from 2.16 million previously, while its longer-term outlook also projected growth of roughly 2.4 million barrels a day in 2027.
