OpenAI adds Codex and models to Google Cloud platform
OpenAI is making its advanced AI models and Codex coding agent available through Google Cloud’s Model Garden and Marketplace, expanding access to customers already using Google’s platform. Customers can apply existing cloud spending commitments to purchases, while Google Cloud’s access controls and data-governance tools are intended to support use in regulated industries and enterprise AI workflows. The deal extends OpenAI’s distribution beyond Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, reflecting a broader push to reach enterprise customers and diversify its cloud channels and computing capacity. Google, meanwhile, adds OpenAI models to a platform that also offers its own and other third-party models.
