Orchestras Schedule Fall Concerts Across Regions
A review of a London Symphony Orchestra program found Dai Fujikura’s brief Amber Alchemy—written in homage to the social order of a beehive—carefully crafted but predictable, and said its pairing with Mahler’s expansive Resurrection Symphony felt more distracting than illuminating. Other listings spotlight upcoming orchestral and chamber performances: Qatar National Library will host a Renaissance program with the Qatar Chamber Choir and international instrumentalists, while Holyoke Civic Symphony’s free fall concert features works by Lauren Bernofsky, Quinn Mason and Beethoven. Redwood Symphony’s LA SALSA! concert will bring Roberto Sierra’s Caribbean-inspired Sinfonía No. 3 to the Bay Area, alongside works by Raymond Scott, Michael Daugherty and Benjamin Britten.
