Organizations Break Ground on Youth, Community Projects
Several organizations have broken ground on projects expanding educational, recreational and community services. Boys Town is building a 24,000-square-foot early childhood center near Omaha for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, combining education and clinical services in a facility expected to open in spring 2028. The Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg has begun an outdoor expansion, starting with a new parking lot on donated land, while Glasgow-Barren County’s new Guilfoil Recreation Center is intended to serve 60 to 100 additional children with courts, classrooms, batting cages and a stage. Onalaska, Texas, is developing a community resource center that will also serve as a disaster shelter and training facility, and Oregon’s Bethel School District has started an expansion of Danebo Elementary, scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
