Ouaddou says Pirates favourites for Soweto derby

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says his side must embrace being favorites against Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday’s sold-out Soweto Derby, while warning that last season’s title and past results will not decide the match. Pirates enter the clash in strong league form, with seven wins and a draw from eight games, while Chiefs are fifth after five consecutive league draws; both teams are coming off 3-0 cup victories. Ouaddou cautioned against complacency, noting that Chiefs have a new coach, Fernando Da Cruz, and fresh energy, and urged Pirates to bring intensity and execute their plan. Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi said the team is prepared and wants to maintain its unbeaten start, keep its momentum and secure three points, while also praising the squad’s young players.
