Pair Arrested After Drugs Found Near Child

Alachua County deputies say they found drugs and paraphernalia within reach of a sleeping 6-year-old during a November 2 disturbance call at a Gainesville motel. Brianna Brenea Clark was arrested and initially faced charges including child neglect and drug possession; after the child reportedly tested positive for cocaine, she was also charged with child abuse. Keyangelo Davon Thorns, who rented the room, was arrested after authorities said he had failed to report the motel as his address as required for a registered sex offender. The allegations have not been proven in court.
