Pennsylvania Pharmacy Tech Charged in Alleged 89,670-Pill Theft
Alyssa R. McDowell, a 34-year-old pharmacy technician at Sheffield Pharmacy in Warren County, Pennsylvania, is accused of taking nearly 90,000 oxycodone and hydrocodone pills between January 2022 and May 2026. Investigators allege she ordered extra bottles for herself and altered pharmacy records to conceal the diversion. McDowell surrendered and was arraigned on felony and related misdemeanor charges; bail was set at $100,000 unsecured. She resigned as a Sheffield Township supervisor the day before the charges were announced. The allegations have not been proven, and McDowell is presumed innocent unless convicted.
