Pensacola Crash Kills Three Navy Sailors

Three U.S. Navy sailors were killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Pensacola, Florida, early Oct. 24. The Navy identified them as David Andrew DeAnda, 21, of California; Drekwon Bagley, of Michigan; and François Prince Emmanuel Longdaye Yambete, 18, of Massachusetts. Police said the car lost control and struck a barrier before overturning and catching fire; the cause of the crash and who was driving have not been publicly disclosed. Pensacola police are investigating, with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service also involved. Longdaye Yambete was a Bartlett High School graduate and football standout, while DeAnda had recently graduated from Navy boot camp; the Navy said support services are available to sailors and families affected by the deaths.
