Perez signs Cadillac F1 deal through 2029

Sergio Perez has extended his contract with Cadillac through at least the 2029 season, securing his place with the Formula 1 team beyond its opening years. The announcement came ahead of his home Mexican Grand Prix, where he is set to make his 300th F1 start. Cadillac CEO Dan Towriss said Perez’s experience and leadership provide continuity as the new team works to become more competitive; although Cadillac has yet to score points this season, Perez has generally outperformed teammate Valtteri Bottas. Bottas’s future is less certain, with IndyCar driver Colton Herta reportedly among the candidates Cadillac is considering for the other seat.
