Pete Davidson finds 9/11 anniversary especially tough at father's age
Pete Davidson says the 25th anniversary of his father Scott Davidson’s death while serving as a New York City firefighter during the Sept. 11 attacks has been especially difficult because he is now the same age his father was when he died and is a father himself. Davidson, who was 7 at the time, said becoming a parent has deepened his understanding of the loss, while spending the anniversary with his daughter, Scottie Rose, has also been healing. He and Elsie Hewitt named their daughter after Scott, and Davidson plans to share photographs, videos and stories about her grandfather as she grows older. Davidson also honored his father through a 9/11 comedy benefit with Jon Stewart and by supporting the 9/11 Day campaign, which encourages people to perform good deeds and help their communities.
