Phoenix Police Tie School Burglaries to Urban Exploration Trend
Phoenix police say four people repeatedly broke into the former Echo Canyon School campus over several days, stealing or damaging computer equipment and other property. The Scottsdale Unified School District reported about $230,000 in losses involving computer hardware and another $51,000 in property damage. Investigators linked the burglaries to an “urban exploration” social media trend; 18-year-old Blake Eldredge was booked on multiple felony charges, while two 16-year-olds were released to their parents pending prosecutorial review. A third suspect was arrested in Mesa, and police say a fourth remains outstanding.
