Pickleball Courts Open, Planned Across Five Communities
Communities in the United States, Canada and India are adding pickleball facilities, reflecting the sport’s growing reach. Stockton celebrated the opening of new courts at Grupe Park, while Chatham-Kent opened a 10-court facility described as its largest, designed to accommodate tournaments and other events. In Newberg, courts at Jaquith Park are complete, though the recreation district is postponing final project approval while it assesses the work. Chennai’s municipal government has invited bids to build courts at six public schools, aiming to give students access to a sport often associated with elite clubs. Arlington, Tennessee, is investing more than $1.7 million to add 12 pickleball and tennis courts at its tennis center.
