Piramal Plans 4.3-MW Solar Plant at Morpeth

Piramal Pharma Solutions is adding a 4.3 MWp ground-mounted solar plant at its integrated drug substance and drug product facility in Morpeth, U.K. Developed under a power purchase agreement with Alight UK BTM1 Limited, the behind-the-meter installation will use about 6,200 panels across 16 acres and is expected to generate roughly 3,950 MWh annually. The renewable electricity will cover about 22% of the facility’s yearly power demand and is projected to avoid approximately 20,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent over 25 years. Operations are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, supporting Piramal Pharma’s goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42% by fiscal 2030.
