Pizzerias Close in Several U.S. Communities
Several pizzerias are closing: Crust Pizza in Red Bank ended its 18-year run, Perry’s Pizza in Clawson is closing after 46 years, and Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom shut its last North Texas location in Fort Worth’s Alliance area in October. Perry’s owners cited rising food, utility and operating costs, while longtime customers mourned Crust’s final service and signature thin-crust pies. Square Pie Guys is closing its Palo Alto restaurant after about a year; its co-founder cited weak dinner and weekend traffic and the car-free stretch of California Avenue as factors. The company is still pursuing expansion elsewhere, and new pizza concepts are planned for the Alliance area.
