Poland chosen to host European hub for PAC-3 missile repairs
The United States, working with Lockheed Martin and European allies, selected Poland to host a European maintenance facility for PAC-3 interceptors used by Patriot air-defense systems. The center will handle servicing, inspections, repairs and sustainment—not missile production—and is intended to return missiles to operational use faster than shipping them to the United States for maintenance. Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden are expected to contribute to supply-chain integration, strengthening allied support for air and missile defense on NATO’s eastern flank. Poland says the project could shorten maintenance timelines from more than a year to a few months and bolster the readiness of Patriot-equipped forces.
