Police Investigate Break-Ins Across Five Communities
Police in several communities are investigating recent waves of vehicle break-ins. In New Ross, three cars were broken into in one evening, with windows smashed and wallets and cash stolen; Gardaí are reviewing CCTV. Athens-Clarke police arrested at least five suspects after more than 50 vehicle break-ins, then reported a new cluster in another part of the city. In Akron’s Goodyear Heights neighborhood, police are seeking people possibly linked to multiple break-ins and urge residents to secure vehicles and hide valuables. Wilmington police have received at least 18 calls about vehicle break-ins since October began and have increased patrols while seeking tips and video evidence.
