Police investigate rugby ball kicked toward Brentford pitch

Brentford has referred an incident to police after video appeared to show someone kicking a rugby ball from a nearby rooftop toward the pitch during the club’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Liverpool. The ball struck the Gtech Community Stadium’s East Stand roof and appears to have reached the field, where a staff member removed it. The club called the act “dangerous and potentially very harmful” and is assisting investigators to identify those responsible; criminal prosecution is possible.
