Trump-Pardoned Crypto Investor Donates Record £36m to Reform UK
Reform UK has received two £36 million donations from cryptocurrency billionaires Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne within roughly 24 hours, giving the party £72 million in funding. The donations set a record for individual contributions to a British political party, far exceeding the previous £10 million record and surpassing the total raised by all UK parties in the previous year. Delo said he accelerated planned monthly contributions to help Reform build political infrastructure and compete with established parties ahead of the next general election, while Harborne described his matching gift as philanthropic and said he expected no policy change, personal benefit or peerage. Reform leader Nigel Farage welcomed the money as evidence of confidence in the party and said it would help prepare for government. The funding comes as Reform faces scrutiny over alleged breaches of foreign-donation rules, including a police investigation and a parliamentary inquiry involving earlier Harborne donations; proposed reforms could tighten restrictions on overseas funding and cryptocurrency-related payments.
