MLB Weighs Grand Teton Park Regular-Season Game
Major League Baseball has asked the Trump administration about staging a special regular-season game at Grand Teton National Park, inspired by its Field of Dreams games and other events at nontraditional venues. National Park Service Deputy Director Frank Lands reportedly visited and assessed three possible sites, but MLB has made no final decision and the Park Service has issued no permits. The game would require construction on protected federal land and could not happen before 2028. The White House says the proposal was not initiated or directed by the president or administration and is not a priority. Conservation advocates and a local county commissioner oppose the idea, warning that a ballpark could threaten wildlife and solitude in the park and depart from national parks’ traditional role.
