Election Guides Cover Minnesota and Chicago Races
Election guides cover school board and municipal contests ahead of Minnesota’s Nov. 3, 2026, elections, as well as a Chicago school board race. In Chicago District 8B, police detective Juan Ignacio Gonzalez is unopposed after incumbent Cydney Wallace was removed from the ballot; Gonzalez did not respond to the questionnaire. Minnesota school board races include six candidates seeking three Forest Lake seats and four candidates seeking three Inver Grove Heights seats. Municipal races span Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, Eagan, Cannon Falls, Burnsville, Apple Valley and Vadnais Heights; mayoral races are contested in Eagan, Cannon Falls and Vadnais Heights, and all seven communities have City Council contests. In the five originally highlighted cities, candidate counts range from two for Eagan mayor to five for two Apple Valley council seats; candidates discuss housing, redevelopment, economic growth, budgets, infrastructure, public safety, local control, environmental protection and community engagement, including how Eagan should respond to AI data centers.
