WCCO’s 2026 election guide features video pitches and, for some candidates, written responses on major issues. Republican Tyler Bass, running in Minnesota’s 3rd District, advocates tax cuts, reducing government waste and a return to individually underwritten health insurance; DFL nominee Matt Little, seeking the open 2nd District seat, proposes protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, raising taxes on wealthy households and corporations, closing tax loopholes, pursuing health-care savings and strengthening Pentagon oversight. Republican incumbent Brad Finstad of the 1st District emphasizes combating fraud and waste, limited government, tax relief and support for rural health providers. In the 7th District, Democrat Erik Osberg says corporations should pay more taxes and calls for better fraud prevention; the guide also includes pitch videos from Doug Chapin, John Nagel and Jake Johnson. WCCO said it had not received a pitch or questionnaire from 4th District Republican nominee Paul Wikstrom.

Cutting waste and fraud is a good start but it won't fix deficits without also looking at revenue from big corporations.
