Men Charged in Henrico and Hyde Park School Cases

In Henrico County, Virginia, 33-year-old Marco Ladion Baylor Jr. was charged with possessing a firearm on school property after a weapons detector alerted staff to a gun in his bag at Lakeside Elementary School on Oct. 14; police said there was no threat and Baylor is cooperating. In Hyde Park, New York, 54-year-old Daniel Prospero was charged after being seen near local schools carrying a hunting-style knife and rifle magazines, including one containing ammunition. Police said Prospero wore a bullet-resistant vest, but searches of nearby areas and his home found no firearm. He faces six felony weapon-possession counts and misdemeanor weapon-possession and trespassing charges; after a hospital evaluation and arraignment, he was released under electronic monitoring. Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
