Chicago-Area Early Voting Expands, Mail Tracking Added
Early voting expands Monday across all 50 Chicago wards and 56 suburban Cook County sites, with additional locations opening in several other Illinois counties. McHenry County is adding 11 sites to its existing Woodstock location, and Madison County is adding a site in Highland. Chicago voters can vote early at any city site; officials urge voters to check local schedules and rules. Cook County is introducing enhanced mail-ballot tracking with more detailed progress updates, including postal-service information. The online voter-registration deadline is Sunday, and mail-ballot requests are due Oct. 29, though Illinois residents can still register and vote on Election Day. No Kings rallies in Chicago and Evanston urged residents to turn protest energy into voter turnout ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
