Gubernatorial Debates Set in Rhode Island Connecticut and Minnesota
In Rhode Island, gubernatorial candidates Helena Foulkes, Ken Block and Aaron Guckian are set to debate ahead of Election Day; a recent poll put them at 44%, 35% and 10%, respectively. In Connecticut, Gov. Ned Lamont and Republican challenger Ryan Fazio are scheduled to meet in their first debate on Oct. 22, with a second debate set for Oct. 27. They are expected to discuss affordability, taxes, housing, jobs, energy prices and the state’s economy; Fazio has criticized Lamont for agreeing to only two debates and has campaigned on tax cuts. A recent poll showed Lamont’s lead widening, while more voters said Connecticut was on the wrong track than the right track and voters expressed concerns about the economy, affordability, housing and energy costs. In Minnesota, candidates Amy Klobuchar and Lisa Demuth are preparing to meet in their first debate.
