Hawaii Early Voting Begins Amid Ballot Confusion
Early voting has begun in Hawaii, where voter service centers offer in-person voting, registration and accessible voting; voters can also use drop boxes or return mail ballots, which must arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Officials urge voters not to wait until Election Day, when centers will have extended hours and lines may grow. Hawaii ballots include numerous county charter and state constitutional questions, and the state Supreme Court ruled that all District 43 voters may participate in a state House rematch despite ballot language limiting the race to Republicans. In California, vote centers are opening in 30 counties 10 days before the Nov. 3 election for in-person voting, ballot drop-off and registration services; Solano and San Joaquin counties have not adopted the system.
