Oregon Sex Offender Charged in School Enrollment Forgery
A 29-year-old registered sex offender from Oregon, Makayla Ray Craig, faces three felony charges after allegedly using the name Molly Lennox Fox and claiming to be a homeless 17-year-old to seek enrollment at Maple Grove High School in Minnesota. According to the criminal complaint, Craig cited the McKinney-Vento Act and sought immediate in-person enrollment, but school officials placed the applicant in an online program because Craig lacked identification. Police say Craig was never on campus; investigators allege Craig continued using the false identity and a fabricated birth date during questioning. Craig is charged with two counts of aggravated forgery and one count of forgery, and remains in custody with bail set at $50,000.
