92 Undelivered Ballots Found in Seattle Dumpster
Two bins of mail containing 92 undelivered ballots were found in a dumpster at Seattle’s Golden Gardens Park, prompting King County Elections to notify law enforcement and the U.S. Postal Service and Postal Inspection Service to investigate. Officials said all affected voters have been issued replacement ballots and characterized the incident as consistent with mail theft, in which ballots are often discarded rather than targeted. They said safeguards—including voter-registration checks, signature verification and duplicate-vote screening—would prevent the ballots from being used fraudulently. Voters who have not received a ballot can contact King County Elections to request a replacement.
