New Zealand Military Chief Resigns Over Relationship
New Zealand Chief of Defence Force Air Marshal Tony Davies resigned effective immediately after acknowledging an inappropriate relationship while he held a unit command and saying he regretted not disclosing it earlier. Defence Minister Paul Goldsmith said the undisclosed integrity matters made Davies’s position untenable, and the case has been referred to the Inspector-General of Defence. The military is transitioning leadership to Vice Chief Rear Admiral Mat Williams, who will serve as acting chief.
