Trump Receives Made-Up Award From Iowa Candidate

Iowa Republican congressional candidate Joe Mitchell presented President Donald Trump with a self-created “Man of the Century” award during a rally in Sioux City. Mitchell praised Trump as the greatest president and criticized the Nobel committee for not awarding him a Peace Prize; Trump accepted the framed certificate and handed it to an aide. Mitchell also echoed Trump’s language and gestures, including calling out CNN, as he presented the award. The gesture drew mockery online and fits a broader pattern of Trump receiving unofficial honors from supporters.
