Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was declared the winner of Brazil's presidential runoff on October 25, 2026, with 51.8% of the vote and a margin of nearly 4.4 million ballots, securing a fourth non-consecutive term. Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro said he will not concede defeat and will seek annulment of the runoff. He called a ruling by Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin that extended voting by two hours "unacceptable." Left-rated coverage foregrounds the refusal to concede and a court bid to nullify or annul the results after the loss to Lula. Right-rated coverage leads on the refusal to concede and the move to annul the election. Center-rated wording stresses that Bolsonaro said he cannot accept the results and will request nullification. The sources report the same core sequence: the two-hour extension, Bolsonaro's "unacceptable" characterization, the non-concession, and the annulment demand. No factual split between named outlets appears in the record.

Strict voting rules matter and last-minute changes without broad agreement can justify asking for a review.
With a 4.4 million vote margin the two-hour extension looks like a thin reason to reject the whole result.
