Early voting ends this week in Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma
Franklin County has recorded more than 73,000 early in-person votes, about twice its 2022 midterm total. Director Antone White cited heavy crowds and 45-60 minute waits with three days left. Wood County Clerk Joe Gonzales told the commission "Saturday is the last day," with sites open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tennessee closed early voting Oct. 29 with photo ID required. Webb and Runnels counties in Texas offered early voting through Friday. North Carolina was set to finish Saturday after more than one million ballots. Early and absentee ballots are 40% of Franklin County's total. Gonzales said write-in races require hand checks and "We are going to be here awhile, because we have to hand check it too." White called early voting a great option for the remaining Friday-Sunday window. Patrick Beharry said voting early ensures his ballot counts. Keri Chryst tracked a stalled overseas ballot and may fly to Ohio. Election Day is Nov. 3. Oklahoma is in its final early period with a voter guide available.
